Description
Molfetta is an important port city, with more than 61,000 inhabitants in the region of Puglia, on the Adriatic coast, 25 km north of the regional capital Bari. The city’s economy is largely driven by the food industry, fishing, building materials and ship building. The port of Molfetta has grown to become the largest in Puglia, with a wharf for cruise ships traveling back and forth between Italy and Eastern Europe. Gran Shopping Mongolfiera gave Puglia a modern and new type of shopping centre for Italy. Thanks to its location, the shopping centre is highly attractive for the inhabitants of the southern province around the city of Bari, from Barletta to Bari. The shopping centre boasts 109 shops and a hypermarket in around 35,000 m² of ground level space. The centre has 2,300 parking spaces, linked to the three entrances to the shopping centre. The design of Gran Shopping Mongolfiera, with its nautical theme, reflects the atmosphere of the beautiful, historical centre of Molfetta. The compact shopping circuit includes three galleries of shops and a hypermarket. The centre also boasts three spacious squares, one of which includes a food court. The main square at the entrance can be used for various events and fashion shows. The welcoming and friendly atmosphere ensures that visitors spend more time in the centre and that they frequently end up relaxing in one of the covered squares, which has helped make the centre one of Molfetta’s main meeting places.
